Government Solutions
ATO-based private 5G for logistics, warehousing and operations.
Private 5G with ATO
Private 5G with ATO guided by real-world U.S. Marine Corps logistics experience.
Federated Wireless collaborates with government agencies to design and manage mission-specific private 5G networks for logistics, warehousing, and base operations:
- Proven past performance with deployed and operational ATO network
- End-to-end expertise from planning and design to optimization, management and support
- Comprehensive ecosystem of government approved suppliers and partners
Federal Logistics Connectivity Presents Unique Challenges
Generic wireless systems like Wi-Fi often struggle to provide consistent performance across warehouses, yards, and maintenance zones, especially under real operational loads.
The solution needs to reliably address mission-critical operations, base-scale deployments, security sensitive environments and industrial/robotics use cases.
Why Private 5G
VVReliable connectivity suited for complex environments
Designed to operate reliably across large indoor warehouses and outdoor logistics yards. Highly available seamless indoor and outdoor coverage.
Deterministic performance for mission-critical workflows
High bandwidth and low latency enable automation, robotics, and real-time logistics functions.
Built-in security for government use
Designed to support secure communications aligned with stringent cybersecurity and authorization standards.
Operational control with unlimited capacity
Agency-managed networks offering unmetered bandwidth, including coverage in areas with limited or no carrier service.
First and Only Deployed and Operational Private 5G with ATO Network Demonstrates Results:
- Operational Security Validation
- Compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Continuous Monitoring
Authority to Operate
The United States Marine Corps has granted an Authority to Operate to the private 5G wireless network developed by Federated Wireless and its partners. This is the first 5G wireless ATO granted within the Department of War (DoW), allowing the private 5G network to function as a trusted capability supporting mission-critical logistics, sustainment, and industrial operations for the USMC Logistics Command at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia.
Achieving ATO is a rigorous, end-to-end process that shapes how systems are designed, deployed, tested, and maintained. This implementation establishes a reference point, enabling secure private 5G deployments across other Marine Corps units and federal agencies. Through the ATO process, Federated Wireless gained deep, practical experience with federal security controls, validation, and long-term operations.

Past Performance: Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany
Overview
Defense logistics demand secure, resilient, mission-grade wireless connectivity to support real-time industrial workflows. At Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, an Authority to Operate (ATO) has been granted for the first private 5G infrastructure network in the Department of War. This enables secure integration with the Marine Corps enterprise environment, meeting federal performance, reliability, and cybersecurity criteria for operational use.
Scope
The deployment encompasses a highly-secure private 5G network across more than one million square feet of indoor/outdoor warehouse and logistics facilities. Leveraging CBRS spectrum, the solution supports industrial automation, robotics, and real-time tracking while being aligned with federal authorization and sustainment needs. The pioneering 5G network is being utilized to spearhead the next generation of military logistics.
Solution Results & Insights
The mission-ready, highly-available private 5G network delivers reliable connectivity suited for industrial environments. The solution supports secure integration of sensors, automated storage and retrieval systems, autonomous systems, and AI-enabled applications, all while complying with federal cybersecurity and privacy requirements.
This implementation contributes to operational readiness by improving inventory accuracy, enabling predictive maintenance, reducing costs and streamlining the supply chain. Key deployment insights include:
- Reliable coverage takes precedence over peak throughput
- Security and authorization must be prioritized from the start
- Device integration and onboarding are essential
- Real-world workflow constraints are difficult to address with generic solutions
